Day 6 - Friday, May 5 2023
Happy Cinco de Mayo! We are still traveling around east Tennessee. It's so beautiful here. I know the rains are on their way, so we are enjoying the sunshine while we can. We left our campsite and headed to Gatlinburg Dog Park. Bali had a bit of fun running around. Lots of bugs though so we didn't stay too long. Just enough for her to stretch her legs.
Our next stop was Home Depot in Sevierville, TN to get a carpet knife. I needed to cut my rug in the back in order to get the back seat (Bali's seat) set up properly. Bali got to go into Home Depot with me (her first Home Depot trip). I did the self-checkout thing and was surprised when it alerted the helper to come over. *Knife* requires them to check ID. Duh! She was really nice and thanked me for bringing my fur-baby in. 💓
We then headed southwest a little bit. A very nice drive.
We stopped at the Bicentennial Greenbelt Park in Maryville, TN. We walked around the park (about 2 miles) and then found a great spot for a picnic lunch of PB&J and water. It was 75 degrees, so water was needed for us both. Bali enjoyed the water fowl as well.
We drove back up to the Townsend, TN area and found a Mountain Overlook spot, which is where we spent the night. Got there after dark and left just as the sun was coming up. We both had a restful night's sleep and no one bothered us. Now...off to do another day!
