Day 15 (end) - Sunday, May 14, 2023
We spent most of the day traveling in storms. It was 90+ degrees in Missouri and humid, so I got us a motel room for the night. Slept well and Bali got soaked.
It took an hour longer than expected to get to Kansas due to all the storm activity in Missouri. I followed a pickup truck with tow lights on top so I could at least see what was in front of me. By the time I got to Bates City, MO around 3 pm, it had pretty much stopped storming and I was able to get Bali out to run at the Love’s truck stop dog park.
We got to my friend, Sandra’s place about 6:30 pm. She had made a wonderful Jello dish. It was scrumptious and pretty!
Day 17 - Tuesday, May 16, 2023
Bali fended very well for herself amongst Sheldon, Briggs, Jody and Kevin (Sandra's dogs). She loved running the property.

We went to the pasture to feed Sandra’s horses (Eiless, Steeler & Frankie).

Eiless is a Farah Fawcett mustang. Look how she shakes her mane. LOL!
We then went to this wonderful garden nursery for Sandra to get some plants.
We had stopped by the local Mom & Pop pet store after the nursery. Since it was Bali’s 11th birthday, I got her a birthday cookie.
This is the Therapy Tree. Jody is following Bali around. I believe they became good friends.
Relaxing under the Therapy Tree.
Day 18 - Wednesday, May 17, 2023
After feeding the horses, we went to a wonderful breakfast at Jimmy’s Egg (a small franchise in Kansas). From there we went to Lowe’s and got some more plants.
A friend of Sandra’s came by and we had wonderful BBQ sandwiches. Sandra’s boyfriend, Dan made the BBQ and it was delicious!
I hung out while Sandra did some gardening. Then she decided she wanted to get mulch, so after feeding the horses we went to Walmart for mulch. Then Sandra treated for ice cream at Dairy Queen. Yum!
As I was planning on leaving early morning, I went to bed early.
Day 19 - Thursday, May 18, 2023
The sunrise this morning was beautiful as we were leaving. I am so grateful to have been able to spend some time with Sandra!
Bali and I drove to a rest stop in Ellsworth, Kansas. It was a good place to get out and stretch our legs. She has pretty much slept the entire morning.
I stopped in Hays, Kansas as I decided to do a load of laundry. Went a bit down the road after that and ended up at a rest stop for the night. I was tired and crawled into the back and slept for several hours. The sound of rain on the roof was delightful and lulled me to sleep.
We're headed to Colorado, but not sure where we'll go tomorrow. We’ll see where the road takes us!

Only for a moment, and the moment's gone.
All my dreams
Pass before my eyes, a curiosity."
