My New Journey - Days 46-48

 

Wednesday-Friday, June 14-16, 2023

I’ll be leaving tomorrow morning to head home. It will be a quick drive and I hope to be home before the end of next week. This will be the last post I make here.

Sometimes in life one has to change course. Go the way the wind blows. It’s time for me to do that.

My New Journey - Days 44 & 45

Monday & Tuesday, June 12 & 13, 2023

Monday, we spent our last day at my friend’s place. Bali relaxed for most of the day. I spent the morning cleaning up the place.

Met up with my friend, Bill and his new puppy, Buster at the Los Gatos Creek Dog Park in Campbell. Buster is a ball of energy and so darn cute! It was great seeing Bill again.

On Tuesday, we left my friend’s place and went to the park to walk around. Then, we drove over to Santa Cruz. I had until 3 pm before checking in at the hotel.

Got checked in at the hotel and rested up for a bit. Tuesday night I drove to Los Gatos and met up with my friend, Gene. Saw Bill again with Buster as well. And another friend, Mark B was there. It was good to see them all. Had a wonderful night. Hugs all around! 💜

My New Journey - Days 42 & 43

Saturday & Sunday, June 10 & 11, 2023

On Saturday, I went with a music friend, Roni to hear our friends, Mary Ellen & Thom at Santana Row in San Jose. Had an absolutely wonderful time and Bali got lots of pets too. Ordered the nachos which turned out to be a huge platter. I have a feeling I’m going to gain 30 lbs before I leave here! Gah!

On Sunday, Bali and I went to a park to walk around and then came back to hang out at “home”. Bagel and coffee for breakfast. Getting some laundry done and just relaxing.

As it turns out, I’ll be staying in the area until Saturday. Changing living quarters on Tuesday, but that’s okay. I have my laptop with me so I can get some of the work I need to do done before I head home.

My New Journey - Days 40 & 41

 Thursday & Friday, June 8 & 9, 2023

Got to my friend, Sandy’s place. She’s got company coming on Tuesday, but I am very grateful I can stay with her until then. She has a little cottage behind her house that is just perfect.

A small dog park isn’t too far away.

Went to my old workplace on Friday to have lunch with some of them. Ate too much at the Yard House. Oh well! It was great fun seeing everyone again.

Had a traveling visitor under the rain guard of my driver’s side window on the car. Little ladybug! Good luck?

Went back to Sandy’s to rest a bit afterwards. Was going to The Cats restaurant in Los Gatos to hear Fossil play. Stopped at my old haunting grounds dog park (Butcher) only to find out they were temporarily shut down. So, we walked the park instead.

Got to The Cats restaurant and had totally forgotten that I probably needed reservations on a Friday night in order to sit near the stage. Duh! Got seated downstairs instead. The place was packed. The band was great! 

Made it back “home” and went to bed shortly thereafter. It’s harder for me to stay up late as I get older. What’s up with that??? 🤣

As a side note…I’m cutting my trip short. When I leave here next week, I’m going straight home. 7-8 hour driving days should put me home around June 18th/19th. I sincerely apologize for anyone I may have missed as I don’t know if I’ll ever be back to the west coast, but I have things I need to take care of. A life of new beginnings and putting the past behind me. I guess I needed this trip to figure that out. 💜

My New Journey - Day 39

Headed south to Sebastopol where my friend, Willow lives. She also has a beautiful Golden Retriever named Layla.

Made it to Dublin, CA for the night. Tomorrow, headed to my friend’s house in Milpitas.

My New Journey - Day 38

 Tuesday, June 6, 2023

Headed down the coast of Oregon and into California now. It was a foggy day the more we traveled south of Coos Bay, but I was able to capture a bit.

I know, you’re thinking…how many pictures of the ocean can this girl take? I have so missed the ocean!

Most of these were taken along part of the Samuel H Boardman State Scenic Corridor.

I got into California and was surprised the border guard didn’t even ask me if I was carrying any fruit (they usually do). She just waved me on.

Met up with friends Ananda & Nick in Fortuna, CA. Bali got lots of pets and enjoyed running in their beautiful backyard. We then went to a great restaurant “Eel River Brewing Company”. We sat outside so Bali could go too. The salads were huge and I couldn’t eat it all. Had a wonderful time!

After dinner, I traveled about another hour down the road before stopping for the night. Tomorrow, we’re headed to see another friend down the road. Stay tuned!
