Day 13 (end) - Friday, May 12, 2023
Bali got a much needed bath in Nashville, TN. Great little spot which was a pet store and also had DIY bath stations.
I got to my friend's house. She made us roast chicken for dinner with broccoli and mashed potatoes. Rose is Italian and boy can she cook!!! All of the dogs got chicken as well (of course). Bali was spoiled!
I loved Roses' garlic bowl! What's a meal without garlic, right?
Day 14 & 15 - Saturday & Sunday, May 13-14, 2023
After getting up on Saturday morning, Rose cooked again - eggs & bacon. And yes, the gang got their share...
Rose and I then took off for a bit. I got a pic of the Nashville skyline while we were driving.
We first went to a park near Nashville. A beautiful place and we took a short loop walk.
Then we went to Greece! Okay, just kidding. It sure did feel like it though. We went to The Parthenon in Centennial Park in Nashville. It has 2 levels. The bottom level is four galleries and the top level is a replica of the Parthenon interior complete with the tallest indoor statue in the Western Hemisphere.
You can see now large it is with the people standing by it.
Ceiling on the outside.
Doors on the outside.
Originally built in 1896.
This is one of the oil paintings inside one of the galleries. This pic does not do it justice.
This is the statue upstairs.
This is the Nike that the statue has in her hand.
The ceiling of the upper floor.
We left and went back to her house. It was a full day. Rose made a wonderful pasta with salad and garlic bread for dinner. I was stuffed!
The schipperke gang got more chicken and they were stuffed too. And then, something special happened. This little girlfriend doesn't come to most people. She came and sat next to me on the sofa and let me pet her for a long time. She even felt safe enough next to me to fall asleep. I felt so special! She is the cutest thing! And her brother, Arthur is just a lover!
The Schipperke Gang was very happy!
Sunday morning, Rose made avocado toast for us and the gang got more chicken (of course). I got the car packed up and Bali and I headed out about noon, heading towards Kansas (our next friend stop). I decided to take the Interstates and planned on taking 3 days to drive it. However, it was in the 90's and very humid, so I stopped in St Louis, MO and got a motel for the night. Lots of t-storms along the way. As a matter of fact, we're having one right now. Going to head to bed and will head out to my friend's place in Kansas tomorrow.
