My New Journey - Day 21

Day 21 - Saturday, May 20, 2023

Left the truck stop we stayed at in Limon, CO in the morning.

Let's get lost! Hee...Hee... Yes, that's what my hat says!

Another dirt road. It was actually in better shape then most of the other Colorado roads, including the Interstates.

A nice looking Morgan.

A church along the way.

It was a smoky morning (from the Alberta, Canada fires).
Made it to Garden of the Gods and couldn't get a parking spot at the visitor's center, so I just drove the loop and stopped to take pics. It reminds me a bit of Sedona, Arizona. Very beautiful in it's own right though.

From there, we drove to our campsite at Mueller State Park in Divide, Colorado. It was a bit pricey ($38 + $10 state entrance fee), but it had electricity. We just got settled in, when I could hear the thunder in the distance. Then came the thunder, lightning and hail. It was only pea-size hail, but it sure did bring down a lot of it.

Our campsite.

I watched some TV (thank you for wifi) and Bali slept in her bed. About 10PM, it really started getting cold. Bali jumped up in bed with me and I put her under the blankets. Then I turned my little heater on. It's small and doesn't do much, but I was very thankful for it. The campsite itself was great. Spots were well spaced out and it was quiet all night. I know because I hardly slept. I got 2 hours sleep, if that. Just uncomfortable and cold. Bali slept well though and that's what counts. 😀
